Aleksandar (Sacha) Babic

Sacha Babic is a partner in Gowling WLG's Hamilton office, with a practice focused on business and privacy law. 

Sacha acts for and advises private sector clients in respect of a broad range of business-related matters, including mergers and acquisitions, business organization (including formation of companies, joint ventures and limited partnerships), corporate reorganizations, financing, corporate governance and commercial agreement reviews.

Sacha also acts for a number of public and quasi-public institutions (including Universities, School Boards and Hydro Utilities), regularly advising such clients in respect of matters involving both traditional corporate-commercial and unique sector-specific legal issues. Among other things, in acting for such clients, Sacha has also developed an extensive expertise in respect of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and the Broader Public Sector Accountability Act (including the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive).

Outside of his practice, Sacha enjoys giving back to the Hamilton community, presently serving on the board of directors of the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation and as a member of its Governance Committee. He is also a member of the Hamilton Law Association, the Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Association of University Solicitors.
