Sean M. Sullivan
Sean M. Sullivan is a partner in Gowling WLG's Waterloo Region office and the head of the office's Advocacy Department. He practises commercial litigation with an emphasis on estate litigation, shareholder disputes, contract disputes, product liability disputes and recovery services. Sean acts for a broad range of clients, including private companies of all sizes, banks and insurance companies.
He has argued cases at all levels of court in Ontario, including the Ontario Court of Appeal, and has represented parties as counsel at trials, applications and motions through the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
Within Gowling WLG's Waterloo Region office and beyond, Sean has developed a reputation for handling complex estate litigation and cases involving the oppression remedy. Externally, Sean is highly respected in the legal community and receives strong praise from his clients.
In addition to his busy and demanding practice, Sean has been actively engaged in volunteer work in the Kitchener-Waterloo community, and has maintained a leadership role in these endeavours. Sean is a board member of the Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce. Sean was a trustee of the Waterloo Law Association for 10 years as well as chair of the Annual Kitchener-Waterloo Secondary School Mock Trial Program.
Sean is also a 2012 recipient of the Waterloo Region Record's Top 40 Under 40, recognizing his achievements and contributions to the Kitchener-Waterloo community. In 2017, Sean received a Waterloo Region Police Services Civilian Award in appreciation for his contribution to the community.
