Ulrich Reers

Ulrich Reers specialises in providing legal advice in the context of capital market transactions with a focus on share placements and stock exchange listings as well as public takeovers and M&A transactions involving listed companies. He has been advising on share and bond issues including IPOs, rights issues and secondary placements for more than fifteen years - often at the interface with private equity.

He has gained in-depth experience in IPOs of German companies in the Netherlands and the USA as well as in the life sciences and real estate sectors. His advice also includes issues of digital securities (crypto token).

Ulrich studied law at the Universities of Münster (Germany) and Paris-X Nanterre (France), where he earned the grade Maîtrise en Droit in 1998. Ulrich began his career as a lawyer in 2003 at Buse Heberer Fromm followed by three years in the legal department of Hudson Advisors, the asset manager of Lone Star Funds specialised in distressed investments. At the beginning of 2008, he joined the corporate and capital markets team at Linklaters. During that time, he was seconded to the legal department for capital markets and M&A of Commerzbank.

Since 2011, he had been a partner at Taylor Wessing in the Corporate / Capital Markets group. In May 2023, Ulrich joined Gowling WLG as a partner in the Frankfurt office.
