Vince Gregor

Vince is a paralegal on the Projects and Infrastructure team at Gowling WLG. He has assisted his team on infrastructure and energy projects in the UK, Middle East, Africa and Far East. He has gained experience across many different sectors through his team's work for both public and private sector organisations, including government entities, sponsors, lenders and contractors. Vince supports his team in advising clients on delivering complex high value energy and infrastructure projects - both domestically and internationally.

He has extensive experience of the project management tasks that are crucial to ensuring that legal projects progress smoothly and accurately. He helps the team maintain efficiency and quality in their work. Clients benefit from Vince's strong communication skills – his ability to communicate efficiently and professionally leads to finding the best solutions. He also brings good analytical skills to identify, understand and solve complex issues. He provides well-thought out solutions and takes charge of tasks to ensure that client needs are met and goals are achieved.

Experience

  • Assisted the team advising Kansai Electric Power Corporation, a major Japanese utility based in Osaka, on its bid for the US$3.6 billion high-voltage subsea transmission project to link Abu Dhabi National Oil Company's offshore facilities to the national grid in Abu Dhabi.
  • Assisted the team advising Eelpower, a leading UK energy storage company, on a 50 MW standalone utility scale battery energy storage project in Fife, Scotland.
  • Assisted the team advising co-sponsors Renco S.p.A and Siemens Project Ventures on the US$260 million, 240 MW Combined Cycle Gas-Fired power station, which is the first project financed project in Armenia.
  • Assisted the team advising Sumitomo Corporation and Veolia consortium in relation to its bid for the US$1.2 billion Taweelah IWP, a greenfield reverse osmosis seawater desalination plant in the UAE, which will be the largest seawater reverse osmosis plant in the world and the first stand-alone independent water project in Abu Dhabi.
  • Assisted the team advising Africa Growth and Energy Solutions on the development of a 25 MW solar farm, which was the first solar IPP in Sierra Leone.
  • Assisting the team advising the sponsor on its bid for the NEOM Construction Villages Project to design, build, finance, operate, insure and maintain 15 construction villages in Saudi Arabia.
  • Assisted the team advising the Ministry of Defence on its 11-year £695 million investment to provide in-service support to the RAF's fleet of Hawk T2 training aircraft and the Hawk T1 jets flown by the Red Arrows.
  • Assisting the team advising National Highways on the procurement of the £1.5 billion+ A303 Amesbury to Berwick Down road/tunnel PPP project in England.
  • Assisting the team advising HMRC on the handback arrangements relating to the Mapeley STEPS PFI contract. The National Audit Office's report identifies the STEPS contract as one of the ten largest PFI contracts by capital value ending in the next 10 years.
