We're delighted to invite you to an evening of insightful discussion about what lies ahead for life sciences as the UK continues its ambition to 'supercharge' the sector.

The past few months have been transformative for life sciences in the UK. From the launch of the UK's Life Sciences Sector Plan to the milestone zero-percent UK-US tariff agreement for pharmaceuticals, the industry is entering a new chapter – one that that promises opportunities but also calls for realism.

On Thursday 12 March at 18:00, we welcome Joe Edwards, Acting Executive Director, International Policy and UK Competitiveness, from the Association of the British Pharmaceuticals Industry (ABPI), as our distinguished guest speaker.

Joe will lead a thought-provoking discussion over dinner on: "Is building a 'life sciences superpower' a realistic prospect for the UK following its pharmaceuticals deal with the US?". With the sector at a key juncture, he explores:

  • The journey so far: disinvestment, market decline and acute challenges.
  • Where we are now: key components of the UK-US deal and what's still unclear.
  • What's next: opportunities, pragmatic realism and questions worth debating.

This dinner is more than a conversation – it's a chance to reflect on the sector's journey, share perspectives and consider what will shape the future of UK life sciences.

We hope you can join us for this inspiring discussion and the opportunity to network with peers engaged across the life sciences spectrum, including pharma, biotech, medtech, investment and advisory communities.
