The Procurement Act's revised implementation date of 24 February 2025 allows additional time to prepare for what marks a landmark change in public procurement rules. Once in place, the new Act will bring far-reaching changes in regulations applying to England, Wales and Northern Ireland. How will the new regime differ from the old? While the Act consolidates a number of existing regulations, there is also much that is new – and the scope is substantial. Focused on clarity, transparency, value and fairness, the Act seeks to introduce many improvements – including greater flexibility, a more competitive process for contracts and improved data on procurements.
