Alex Driver

Alex Driver is a London-based principal associate who advises on intellectual property law, with an emphasis on patent matters.

He has developed wide-ranging experience, having advised numerous clients in a variety of sectors including, among others, telecommunications (having been involved in three of the most significant SEP/FRAND cases to have been brought in the UK High Court), medical devices, fibre optic cables, sonar systems and missile defence systems.

He has experience of advising clients in proceedings before the High Court of England & Wales, the Court of Appeal and in relation to European Patent Office proceedings. He also has extensive experience advising in pre-litigation matters, and on other patent matters such as freedom to operate analyses and contractual issues. Further, Alex has acted in a significant and high value arbitration matter concerning patent rights.

Alex has enhanced his understanding of his clients' needs through an international secondment. While there he assisted in the development of international patent strategies.

Beyond the day-to-day Alex is a member of AIPPI and IPSoc and enjoys learning about developments in the global patent scene.
