Andrew Wong

Andrew Wong is a partner in Gowling WLG's Calgary office, practising in the areas of corporate, M&A, capital markets, corporate restructuring, and private equity.

Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Andrew co-founded, financed, and sold a small pharmaceutical delivery technology company which developed and commercialized pharmaceutical products that it sold to clients in Canada, the United States, South Africa, and Europe. After a successful exit in 2020, Andrew agreed to stay on as part of the senior management team of the acquiring company for a short period of time before re-entering private practice with Gowling WLG.

With a unique blend of business experience and legal background, Andrew genuinely understands and internalizes his clients' objectives which allows him to provide pragmatic legal advice. He has experience in the following areas:

• Mergers and acquisitions of both public and private companies (share acquisitions and asset purchase and sales)
• Public and private financings (debt and equity)
• Advising on listing and exchange compliance matters, and corporate governance and regulatory compliance matters
• Advising on general commercial agreements in technology, oil and gas, manufacturing, and cannabis sectors

Andrew has represented domestic and international companies on financings, public listings, mergers and acquisitions, private equity fund matters, and corporate commercial matters in the technology, oil and gas, manufacturing, and cannabis industries.
