
Bio
Ashley Thornton is an articling student in Gowling WLG's Toronto office. She completed her juris doctor at the Schulich School of Law, along with a certificate in health law & policy.
Ashley completed her bachelor of arts at St. Thomas University with a double major in criminology and psychology, and a double minor in human rights and law, politics & society. While at St. Thomas, Ashley gained oral advocacy experience through STU’s Moot Court team – competing in both the American Moot Court Association and the Stetson International Environmental Moot Court competition.
Throughout her time in law school, Ashley was involved in the Dalhousie Feminist Legal Association, the Dalhousie Student Advocacy Services, and was involved in two Pro Bono projects. She gained legal research experience working as a research assistant for both the Access to Justice and Law Reform Institute and the Muriel McQueen Centre for Family Violence Issues.
Ashley will focus her articling term in the firm's advocacy department.
