Brent Campagnola is an associate in the Recovery Services department of Gowling WLG’s Hamilton office.
Brent brings a dynamic attitude and a keen interest in honing his skills and mastering the nuances of debt recovery and litigation. He is energized by opportunities to present in front of judges and administrative decision makers.
Brent completed his JD at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He articled at a large, full-service law firm where he worked extensively in administrative law, civil litigation, human rights, and property-related disputes.
Brent was also a member of Dalhousie’s 2023 Jessup Moot team, which won the Canadian National Rounds and additional awards at the White & Case International Rounds, including sixth place written submissions out of 97 countries, and ninth place written submissions out of 138 teams competing.
Prior to law school, Brent completed his bachelor’s degree in law, minoring in business. He then completed a master’s degree in applied linguistics, wherein he obtained a certificate in CTESL language teaching. This allowed him to pursue a brief but fulfilling two-year career teaching English as a foreign language in Jinju, South Korea.
Outside of work, Brent has become very active in the Latin dancing community here in Hamilton. He is currently taking weekly lessons in salsa, bachata and kizomba. Brent loves to cook and golf. He is always pushing himself to learn new skills. He regularly works on developing his communicative skills in various languages, including French, Spanish, Korean and American Sign Language.
