David Isilebo

David Isilebo is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Calgary office, practising primarily in the areas of health law, professional liability and commercial litigation.
David articled with Gowling WLG, and prior he summered at the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service where he gained valuable experience assisting on a variety of civil, traffic, and criminal matters.
David has appeared before various administrative tribunals, the Alberta Court of Justice and the Alberta Court of King’s Bench, as well as assisted in matters heard at the Alberta Court of Appeal. He also has experience in various types of alternative dispute resolution, including mediations and arbitrations.
David obtained his JD from the University of Calgary in 2022. Throughout law school, he was a prominent member of the UCalgary Black Law Students Association, acting as an executive before ultimately serving as co-president in his final year of law school. During his time at the UCBLSA, David helped implement the Black Students Admissions Process for the Faculty of Law at the University of Calgary, which has helped to substantially increase the number of Black law students attending the University of Calgary.
