Derek Young

Derek Young is a skilled and experienced litigator who has appeared at all levels of British Columbia’s Provincial and Superior Courts, as well as numerous provincial and federal tribunals.   He advises and represents clients in a wide range of matters, with a focus on commercial and corporate governance disputes, creditors’ remedies, and insurance-related litigation.

In addition to his litigation practice, Derek is a strong proponent for alternative dispute resolution (ADR). He regularly represents clients in mediation and also acts as a neutral third-party mediator. Derek has completed advanced ADR training at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University, further strengthening his collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
