Dmytro Botov

Dmytro Botov is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Hamilton office. He specializes in assisting institutional lenders across Canada with defaulted loan recovery, security enforcement and lending transactions. He brings a forward-thinking, tailored approach to maximizing the recovery of commercial loans, alleviating the complexities of loan recovery for lenders. When appropriate, Dmytro negotiates repayment and forbearance terms on behalf of lenders, ensuring the best possible outcomes.
During law school, Dmytro was an active member of the legal community, contributing to the International Law Society’s writing committee and representing Windsor Law at the prestigious Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, both nationally and globally. He also served as a volunteer caseworker with Community Legal Aid in Windsor, gaining valuable experience advocating for those in need.
Before pursuing a legal career, Dmytro dedicated a decade to serving in the Canadian Army Reserve. His military tenure included participating in domestic operations, facilitating United Nations pre-deployment training, and serving as a staff officer at Canadian Army Headquarters in Ottawa.
Dmytro remains engaged with the military community as a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion and The Governor General’s Horse Guards Association. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active through cycling, racket sports and skiing.
