Michael Giesbrecht

Michael Giesbrecht is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office.

Michael graduated from the University of Ottawa’s English Common Law Program. During his studies, Michael participated in multiple moot competitions, including as a member of the University of Ottawa’s Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot team. Michael also served as a Peer Mentor to first year law students.

Prior to entering law school, Michael worked in a variety of legislative, communications, and administrative roles on Parliament Hill. Michael also has extensive political organizing and campaign experience, including serving as a Campaign Manager for a candidate of a major political party in the 2021 federal election.

Outside of work, Michael is an avid sports fan and video game enthusiast.
