
Bio
Robert Hawes is a summer law student in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office, focusing his work with the Business Law Group.
Robert recently completed his second year of the Juris Doctor program at Queen’s University. During his studies, he participated in the International Business Law Program, served as director of legal affairs for the Grad Club, and received a course award in Business Associations. He also worked as a student caseworker at the Queen’s Business Law Clinic and volunteered as a tutor for first-year law students.
Prior to entering law school, Robert graduated summa cum laude from the Honours Bachelor of Arts Philosophy program at the University of Ottawa, earning the Faculty Plaque for achieving the highest cumulative GPA in his graduating class. During his undergraduate studies, Robert also worked in the planning and reporting sections of Correctional Services Canada, and the Canada Revenue Agency, where he was nominated for the Outstanding Student Award for his contributions.
