Gowling WLG Russia is pleased to share that its own Vladislav M. Ugryumov and Ruben V. Dzhermakyan have authored a chapter of the 2019 edition of Global Patent Protection and Enforcement of In Vitro Diagnostic Inventions (Kluwer Law International). In this text, the authors describe special aspects of the patenting and enforcement of in vitro diagnostic inventions in Russia.

This book is the first to provide a comprehensive global examination of the patentability of in vitro diagnostic tests. The chapter by Gowling WLG lawyers examines the hurdles that applicants must overcome in obtaining a patent for diagnostic claims. It also includes examples of successful claims for diagnostic inventions, as well as practical tips to prevent or reduce the number of failed applications. The book will be a single resource and reference guide for practitioners to understand the requirements for patenting in vitro diagnostics in each of the nine jurisdictions.
