On June 28, 2019, Georgia-based GAT Airline Ground Support ("GAT"), a portfolio company of Atlantic Street Capital, acquired British Columbia-based Strategic Aviation Holdings Ltd. ("Strategic Aviation"). The merged businesses will continue to operate under their current brands and be identified as a GAT company.

GAT provides premium airline ground support with a team of more than 3,000 employees serving 45 locations throughout the US. Strategic Aviation is an aviation-based company offering an ever-broadening range of passenger, catering, and ground support services to Canadian businesses in the airline industry.

Gowling WLG was tax counsel to Atlantic Street Capital in this transaction, with a particular focus on sales tax considerations applicable to the industry, with a team that included Laura Gheorghiu and Malya Amghar.
