Gowling WLG's Energy team has advised Dore Hold Co Limited, a subsidiary of Downing Renewables & Infrastructure Trust plc (LSE:DORE), on the acquisition of Chalkhill Energy Life Holdings Limited, which holds a 96MWp portfolio of c.50 solar photovoltaic (SPV) assets.

The assets include a combination of ground mounted, commercial and residential rooftops across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Gareth Baker, co-head of Gowling WLG's Energy Sector Group and senior associate Róisín Bergin (corporate), led the deal working with, legal director Susannah Fink (insurance) principal associate Tom Rank (tax) and Maya Thompson (legal apprentice, corporate) and other Energy team members including James Stanier (regulatory and commercial), Elizabeth Napier and Anna Colley (real estate), Ben Stansfield (environmental) and Rob Currall (projects).

This latest deal follows Gowling WLG advising Downing Renewables & Infrastructure Trust plc on its £122 million IPO in December 2020.
