On March 22, 2022, Famille C, the Courtin-Clarins family private investment fund and owner of the French cosmetic group Clarins, acquired the US-based beauty brand, ILIA Beauty.
ILIA Beauty, first founded in Vancouver and now headquartered in Laguna Beach, is an industry leader in the 'clean' make-up and skincare segment, developing and marketing makeup products that protect and revive the skin.
Gowling WLG was Canadian counsel to certain sellers of ILIA Beauty with a team that included David Campbell and Jonathan Behar (corporate/M&A), Max Brunette (employment) and Anita Yuk (tax).
