Health sector team assists Cairngorm Capital Partners on major M&A deal

A health-sector focused team from Gowling WLG has assisted Cairngorm Capital Partners LLP (Cairngorm Capital) on the merging of its portfolio company, E-zec Medical Transport Services (E-zec) with ERS Transition Limited (trading as ERS Medical).

The partnership creates the UK's stand-out industry leader in the provision of non-emergency patient transport services to the NHS and local authorities. The enlarged business serves more than 50 commissioning bodies with the support of 2,500 specialist employees, from 55 operational sites nationwide. In 2022, the combined business generated revenues in excess of £100 million.

Corporate partner Ian Piggin led the team which was also made up of partner Alasdair McKenzie (debt), principal associates Tom Rank (tax) and Elizabeth Napier (property), senior associate Aimee Hassell and legal apprentice Maya Thompson (both corporate).

Commenting on the advice provided to Cairngorm, Ian said:
