Five Gowling WLG professionals from the firm's offices in Canada and the UK have been named as 'Rising Stars' in Managing Intellectual Property's (MIP) 2020/21 'Rising Stars' list.
The third 'Rising Stars' guide to be published by MIP, the rankings highlight the sector's up-and-coming practitioners in private practice who have performed exceptionally well for their firms and clients in the past 12 months.
Distinguishing future legal stars below the partner level, results are based on an extensive research using information submitted by firms, market and client feedback, and publicly available resources.

This latest announcement continues a standout year for Gowling WLG's international Intellectual Property team, following widespread recognition by MIP over the last 12 months.
The team was distinguished for its Tier 1 advisory in the 2020 edition of MIP's 'IP Stars' Trademark, Patent and Copyright firm rankings, with 36 lawyers across Canada, France, Germany, Russia, UAE, and the UK securing a total 46 accolades in the guide's 'IP Stars' practitioner rankings.
The firm also secured top honours at the Managing Intellectual Property EMEA Awards 2020, with teams in Russia (Trademark) and the UK (Designs) prestigiously named 'Firms of the Year'. The IP team in Canada also secured standout recognition in four categories at the Managing Intellectual Property North America Awards 2020, including a Canadian 'Firm of the Year' accolade in the Trademark Prosecution category.
