Our Private Equity team is celebrating success at the Insider Thames Valley Dealmakers Awards 2023 having claimed the 'Deal of the Year (sub £20m)' award.
A celebration of the M&A profession in the region, the Insider Thames Valley Dealmakers Awards 2023 highlight the success of firms and individuals transacting and trading at the highest level, and the most significant deals shaping the region. The 'Deal of the Year (sub £20m)' accolade celebrates the teams behind an outstanding deal showcasing complexity, innovation, speed of completion, and a positive impact on the local economy.
Our Private Equity team has been recognised for its role in advising long-standing client, UK SME investor Mobeus Equity Partners, on its £19.6 million minority equity investment into Intralink Group, a business development and innovation consultancy that specialises in securing commercial deals between western and Asian tech and sustainability businesses.
The deal scooped the award, being selected over very strong competition, with the Gowling WLG Private Equity team recognised alongside a number of other advisers including HMT, RSM, DC Advisory, CIL, Grant Thornton, Chief People Office, Sustainable Advantage, and Freeths, for their involvement in the transaction supporting Mobeus and the management team.
Partner Neil Hendron and senior associate Chelsie Taylor led on the deal, supported by associate Hannah Gough and paralegal Orissa Kaur. Colleagues from our China office, partner Vivian Desmonts and associate Jiayi He also advised on the China-related aspect of the investment.

The awards success follows recent recognition at the Insider South East Dealmakers Awards 2023, where Gowling WLG's Corporate team won the 'Private Equity/Venture Capital Deal of the Year' award for its role in a Series B fundraising for HiiRoc. The team also secured a triple shortlisting at Insider's Midlands Dealmakers Awards 2023, having been named finalists in three categories, for Corporate Law Firm of the Year, International Deal of the Year, and Corporate Lawyer of the Year (partner Chris Towle).
