Gowling WLG named 'UAE Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year' at the Chambers Middle East Awards 2024

11 mars 2024

Gowling WLG's Intellectual Property team in the Middle East has won 'UAE Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year' at the 2024 Chambers Middle East Awards.

The awards recognise a law firm’s pre-eminence in key jurisdictions in the region and reflect achievements over the past 12 months – including outstanding work, impressive strategic growth and excellence in client service. They set out to honour the work of national and international law firms across the region, based on research conducted for the latest Chambers Global Guide.

Our UAE Intellectual Property (IP) team is led by partner Jon Parker, who is consistently recognised as a leader in the field of IP, and Rachel Armstrong, who is also ranked in legal directories and who re-joined the practice as a partner in early 2023. In recent months, the team has further expanded with the relocation of senior IP practitioner David Aylen from Gowling WLG in Canada to the UAE and the hire of Bachir-Chakra as a partner to lead our IP work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The team is active across a wide range of sectors and combines global reach with expert local legal and regulatory knowledge. It stands out as one of the most extensive, full-service, dedicated IP teams within an international law firm in the region.

Chambers and Partners is a trusted ranking and a mark of excellence across the legal industry. This recognition in its Middle East Awards highlights our UAE IP team's unmatched expertise in patents, trademarks, brands and designs, copyright, and its capabilities to provide outstanding client experience to all stakeholders.

This latest award follows on from a previous success in this category, having claimed the award in 2022. The team is also ranked Band 1 in the Chambers Global 2024 edition and has been consistently recognised by various other trusted directories over the years.
