Gowling WLG crowned standout innovator at FT Innovative Lawyers Awards 2018

International law firm Gowling WLG has been named 'Standout' innovators for Managing and Developing Talent and 'Highly Commended' for innovation in Data, Knowledge and Intelligence at the 2018 FT Innovative Lawyer Awards Europe.

Further boosting the firm's credentials as a legal sector innovator, Gowling WLG was also ranked as one of the Top 25 most innovative law firms in Europe at the prestigious awards ceremony in London.

Shortlisted in two categories, Gowling WLG was awarded Standout status by the Financial Times in the Managing and Developing Talent category for the firm's collaboration with psychometric gaming provider Arctic Shores, transforming the firm's recruitment process for trainees and apprentices.

The firm was recognised for its use of artificial intelligence gaming technology to deliver more accurate personality profiles to find candidates who are a strong fit for early talent roles, and increasing the number of female and minority candidates that reach the firm's assessment centres.

The firm's Real Estate team was also Highly Commended for innovation in the Data, Knowledge and Intelligence category, marking a second success for Gowling WLG for their bespoke mobile app technology platform for use by long-standing client Sanctuary Housing.

Revolutionising the firm's sector-leading client service offering, the app automates certain tasks to assist Sanctuary to instruct the firm on new matters, the innovation increases data capture, facilitates approvals, allocates work to the right team member and gives them a view of all matters.

Gowling WLG's recent award shortlisting success continues with the news the firm has been named in two categories at the forthcoming British Legal Awards on Thursday 29th November, for Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team of the Year and TMT Team of the Year. The firm's Intellectual Property team in Singapore has also been shortlisted for Trademark Team of the Year at the Asia IP Awards 2018.
