Gowling WLG appoints Helen Mahy CBE as non-executive director

Leading international law firm Gowling WLG has appointed Helen Mahy CBE as a non-executive director. She will join the firm's UK LLP Executive Board alongside existing non-executive director Mandy Donald.

Helen has extensive experience and understanding of a range of industries including Energy, Infrastructure, Transportation, Health, Professional Services and Retail.

Helen's distinguished career has included over a decade as Group General Counsel and Company Secretary for National Grid where she also headed up the Global Assurance function. She contributed extensively across the wider National Grid business as a member of its Executive Committee. She was also Co-sponsor of the Group Inclusion and Diversity programme, Executive Sponsor of the UK Women's Network, and was a coach and mentor for rising stars.

Most recently, Helen is a non-executive director for SSE plc, Commissioner for the Equality & Human Rights Commission and chairs the Renewables Infrastructure Group, a FTSE 250 company. She has worked tirelessly to promote inclusion, diversity and social mobility and was awarded a CBE in 2015.
