26 septembre 2022

Michael Bordin, a partner and litigator in Gowling WLG's Hamilton office, has been appointed a judge of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in St. Catharines. His appointment takes effect immediately.

A Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation, Justice Bordin first joined Gowling WLG in 2019 as part of the firm's merger with Evans Sweeny Bordin (ESB) LLP, of which he was a founding partner. Over the course of his career, he has managed a broad commercial and civil litigation practice with an emphasis on professional liability and negligence. This practice was underpinned by extensive trial and appellate experience, including a successful appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada.

"Since joining with the ESB merger, Michael has been a true leader within our firm - not only as head of our Hamilton office's Advocacy Department and member of our Office Management Committee, but also as a respected mentor and close friend to many," said Pam Vermeersch, managing partner of Gowling WLG's Hamilton office.

"Throughout his tenure, he worked tirelessly to ensure the successful integration of our practices, and was integral in the building of a robust local advocacy team in Hamilton. I have no doubt he will bring the same energy, skill and deep sense of commitment to his next role."
