In a recent interview with CBC's Canada Tonight, Wendy Wagner, partner and head of International Trade & Customs at Gowling WLG Canada, addressed concerns over President-elect Donald Trump's plan to implement a 25% tariff on products imported from Canada and Premier Doug Ford's recent threat to retaliate. She emphasized that retaliation in a trade dispute will hurt Canadians too.
"The problem with retaliation is that it tends to hurt the economy that is imposing it, just as much as the economy that is subject to it," Wagner stated.
