Andrew Bitz

Andrew Bitz is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Calgary office. He practises in the areas of insurance and commercial litigation with an emphasis on insurance and risk-related disputes, including coverage litigation, fire and property losses, construction, occupiers’ liability, and complex loss claims. His practice also includes advising on and litigating contractual and commercial disputes arising in the insurance context.

Andrew acts for insurers, corporations and other institutional clients, providing strategic and practical advice at all stages of a dispute. He is focused on delivering efficient, results-oriented advocacy, whether through negotiated resolution or litigation. He has experience managing matters from inception through to trial and regularly represents clients in mediations and settlement conferences.

Andrew has appeared before the Alberta Court of Appeal, the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, and the Alberta Court of Justice.
