Anika Winn

Anika Winn is an associate in Gowling WLG's Calgary office, practising primarily in the areas of health law, professional liability, and commercial litigation..

Anika summered and articled with Gowling WLG, and clerked with the Alberta Court of King's Bench, gaining valuable experience assisting on a variety of complex civil and criminal matters.

Anika earned her JD at the University of Ottawa, graduating cum laude with a specialization in health law. Throughout law school, Anika served as a teaching assistant for first-year tort law classes, and interned under the General Counsel of the Ottawa Hospital. She won the 2019 CBA health law essay competition and competed in the 2020 International Criminal Court Moot Competition, where her team won the America's regional round and placed third overall internationally.

Prior to attending law school, Anika obtained a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours, First Class) from the University of Calgary. She has published several research papers on prenatal, refugee and immigrant health care, and conducted research in rural Tanzania focused on health education in primary schools.
