Arminder Dhillon

Arminder is a legal director with a full range of commercial real estate experience with particular expertise in advising on the property aspects of energy and infrastructure projects in England and Wales. He regularly helps clients on the acquisition of land rights and their grid connection requirements and he has a particular specialism in advising on linear infrastructure routes which means he is well versed in dealing with the inevitable complexities and challenges that arise with seeking agreements with numerous parties in order to conclude a successful project.

Experience

• Project managing the onshore real estate aspects of the development of an offshore windfarm which involved negotiating land agreements with 60+ landowners/occupiers along the onshore cable route. This included advising on the land acquisition strategy, negotiating complex template documents, developing protocols to ensure work was undertaken as cost effectively as possible and advising on some of the more complex agreements along the route, such as landfall, onshore substation and agreements with statutory bodies.
• Leading the real estate team acting for an energy company in respect of the construction of a gas pipeline to supply a new substantial (2.5GW) gas fired power station. The project involved the negotiation of voluntary land agreements (options and deeds of easement) and an option for freehold purchase for the above ground installation.
• Advising an energy company in relation to the linear infrastructure route for their proposed carbon capture utilization and storage project and preparing the template documents for the linear infrastructure aspects of the project.
• Preparing template battery energy storage system (BESS) documents for an energy company that is looking to diversify into other generation and storage projects.
