Ben Long

Ben Long advises both employers and trustees on all aspects of running their pension schemes, with a particular interest in risk transfer transactions. He is a member of the team's specialist Pensions Risk Transfer Group, the Pensions Technology Group and leads the team's thinking of collective defined contribution schemes.

Ben understands the full range of solutions that can be applied to achieve a client's goals for their pensions schemes and the importance of identifying the key issues early, often from multiple viewpoints, so that they can be engaged with quickly and effectively.

Clients

Trustees of schemes in the manufacturing, financial services and technology sectors. Employers in the construction, charity/not-for-profit and manufacturing sectors. Ben advises both trustees and insurers on risk transfer transactions.

Experience

• Advising on scheme closures, including assisting the trustees of a large scheme on a proposed scheme abandonment by the principal employer
• Working closely with clients on liability management exercises
• Assisting clients with the management of PPF assessment periods
