Claire is a lawyer in the Commercial, IT and Outsourcing team, with a background in risk management and technology. She is a member of the firm's Tech team and advises clients on a broad range of matters.

With a specialist focus on data protection, Claire regularly advises UK-based and international clients on UK GDPR compliance and adherence with evolving guidance from the UK's independent regulator for data protection, the Information Commissioner's Office. She has extensive experience in drafting and advising on an array of data privacy documentation such as internal compliance policies, data protection impact assessments, privacy notices, cookie policies, data sharing agreements and data processing agreements.

Experience

• Managing large-scale data privacy compliance projects for multi-national companies with UK subsidiaries;
• Providing data privacy risk management advice to various private sector tech clients and public sector organisations in relation to the implementation of various pieces of innovative technologies;
• Advising various landlords on tenant privacy issues and data protection obligations under property management agreements;
• Advising a number of private and public sector clients on complex data sharing and data processing arrangements with third parties;
• Advising on Freedom of Information Act and Environmental Information Regulation requests and the application of exemptions; and
• Providing risk management advice in relation to the data protection aspects of corporate transactions.
