Jenelle Patterson

Jenelle Patterson is a scientific research clerk in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office, practising in the Business Law Department.

Jenelle works for the Advertising & Product Regulatory Group, reviewing and analyzing scientific data, preparing regulatory strategies for natural health products, and preparing product licensing applications to submit to Heath Canada.

Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Jenelle worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Florida's Synthetic Biology Working Group. There, she conducted genetic engineering research and characterized novel biochemical pathways in plants and microbes.

In addition to her peer-reviewed scientific publications, Jenelle has authored multiple reviews and chapters on carbon metabolism, as well as research editorials for University of Florida's tech licensing office. She has also lectured undergraduate and graduate courses on plant physiology, data analysis, and science communication.
