Jenny is a Birmingham based Principal Associate in the Commercial, Development and Investment team. Jenny has over seven years' experience in the Real Estate sector and has spent time working in both private practice and in-house at a large international developer. Jenny has acted for developers, owners and investors and specialises in acting on large scale regeneration projects. She has experience in advising in all aspects of real estate including development (development agreements, development management agreements, forward-fund agreements, option agreements and joint venture agreements), sales and acquisitions, debt and equity financing and leasing and asset management.
Experience
- Working as part of Nisha Jassal's team advising Arden Cross on their development at HS2 Birmingham Interchange to create a global destination for innovation, business, commerce, learning and living, across more than 140 hectares of development space.
- Working as a part of a team advising a large developer on the real estate aspects of a refinance of its development portfolio.
- In-house legal representative in respect of the following:
- Legal lead in respect of large mixed-use development (c1100 residential units, offices, retail and affordable housing). Including oversight of site buy-in (land assembly), development and forward fund agreements, drafting management agreements (property, asset and development), oversight of debt and equity financing and commercial and residential leasing.
- Legal lead in respect of a large Central London build to rent (BtR) site. Including oversight of site buy-in, leading on the legal structuring forum for BtR (including Opco leasing), setting up a BtR platform, oversight of retail leasing and ASTs.
- Oversight of forward fund affordable housing transactions with a total transaction value of c£100 million.
- Acting on a development agreement with a Football Club and two joint venture partners for a value in excess of £100 million.
- Acting on a sale of a ground rent portfolio for c£130 million across three large Central London mixed use developments.
- Acting on a £50 million joint venture and development agreement with a housing association. Drafting of sale purchase agreements (including golden brick agreements), leases (including airspace leases) and plot sales documentation.
- Acting on £20 million and £14 million purchase of industrial sites for redevelopment subject to overage and clawback.
