Bio
Jimmy Song is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office, practising in the Intellectual Property Group.
Jimmy works alongside patent agents assisting with drafting and prosecuting applications related to biotechnology, life sciences, microbiology, pharmaceutical and chemical formulations, diagnostics and medical devices.
Jimmy obtained his JD at the University of Ottawa, where he completed a Technoship program focusing on legal data science.
Prior to entering law school, Jimmy completed his PhD and Masters in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Kansas. Jimmy previously interned at a major US based law firm working alongside patent prosecution attorneys. While completing his undergraduate degree at McMaster University, Jimmy worked as an analytical chemist and a technologist as part of his co-op training.
