Jimmy Song

Jimmy Song is an articling student in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office.

Jimmy obtained his JD at the University of Ottawa. During his studies at U of O, Jimmy was a peer mentor to first-year students and he completed a Technoship program in legal data science.

Prior to entering law school, Jimmy completed his PhD and masters in pharmaceutical chemistry at the University of Kansas. During his graduate career, he became interested in intellectual property law and had exposure to patent prosecution. As a graduate student, Jimmy served as the president of the Graduate Student Organization and student recruitment coordinator for the department.

Jimmy completed an honours bachelor of science in chemical biology at McMaster University. During his undergraduate career, Jimmy worked as an analytical chemist and a technologist as part of his co-op training.
