John G. Webster

A Waterloo Region-based Gowling WLG partner, John Webster is a commercial litigator with 24 years of experience in corporate, commercial, and insurance-related litigation. His clients appreciate how he guides them through the litigation process to a successful resolution using a strategic, timely, and efficient approach, while remaining attuned to his clients' goals.

John helps clients in a wide range of matters, including corporate, commercial, insurance, product liability and professional liability matters. The commercial matters he handles include shareholder disputes, partnership disputes, contract disputes and enforcement, oppression remedy claims, fraud claims, and injunctions.

John is a recognized leader in professional liability defence, and is one of LAWPRO's "Preferred Counsel." He has years of experience and success with insurance defence litigation, including class actions, product liability, motor vehicle, and personal injury claims. He also pursues recovery for insurers by way of subrogation.

John gives back to his community and enjoys helping others. He is a trustee with the Waterloo Region Law Association, and has been active in community volunteer work. He is also known for fundraising and supporting various children's activities, such as athletics and dance.
