Bio
Kalie Rhéaume is a bilingual articling student in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office.
Kalie completed her J.D./LL.L. in the Programme de droit canadien at the University of Ottawa. During her studies, Kalie was highly involved in the law student community, where she participated in moot competitions and provided support and guidance to her fellow students as a facilitator at the Career and Professional Development Centre. As a longtime high-level badminton athlete, Kalie could be found competing in tournaments as a Gee-Gee’s badminton team member or on the field playing soccer intramurals with her classmates.
Prior to entering law school, Kalie completed an undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics (Faculty of Health Sciences) at the University of Ottawa. Kalie has a strong background in health and customer service and has been deeply involved in helping and supporting vulnerable groups, especially children and young adults with autism spectrum disorders. The years she has spent working with this population have made her well-equipped to understand the difficult realities of marginalized groups and neglected individuals. Kalie was also a child & family support volunteer at the Roger Nielson House during her undergraduate studies. Her compassionate nature combined with her discrete and entrusted qualities can always be relied on.
She has a particular interest in medical law, as well as personal injury, professional liability and negligence more generally. At the same time, she remains eager to discover and engage with new areas of law, approaching each with curiosity and adaptability.
