Katherine is a vastly experienced private funds lawyer with more than 16 years of experience advising clients on all private fund formation investment vehicles across multiple asset classes and jurisdictions. She has particular expertise in credit and private equity, and has advised in relation to fund investments by a range of investors across the Middle East, Asia, US and Europe including a number sovereign wealth funds, state plan investors, insurance companies, pension funds and private investors including co-investment arrangements and separately managed accounts.
Katherine also has deep experience acting for managers on their fund structuring and launching their fund products predominantly focusing on Luxembourg, the Cayman Islands, Delaware, Ireland, Singapore, Hong Kong, the UK and other jurisdictions including in the Middle East, US, South America (such as Belize), and further European jurisdictions (such as Malta and Lichtenstein.)
Katherine and her fund colleagues work closely with Gowling's global tax, insurance and pensions teams on secondary transactions, including continuation funds, secondaries trades and competitive auctions, both GP and LP-led.
Katherine also works closely with the firm's finance team which has a leading practice in fund finance, providing legal support for liquidity solutions for asset managers, from financings structured as securitisations to hybrid and subscription line facilities.
