Kelsey Buchmayer

Kelsey Buchmayer is an associate in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office, practising in the Advocacy and Business Law groups. Kelsey's practice focuses on estate planning and administration as well as Indigenous law.

Kelsey obtained her JD from the University of Windsor. During her studies, Kelsey completed a clerkship at the Supreme Court of the Northwest Territories in Yellowknife and mooted in the Global Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.

Before law school, Kelsey worked for the Government of Canada as a policy analyst with Indigenous Services Canada and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada, where she drafted and implemented legislation, managed departmental budget submissions, and worked with the Specific Claims Branch negotiation teams.

Kelsey has an MA from the University of Ottawa and a BA from the University of King's College. She also competed as a varsity athlete playing rugby and ultimate frisbee. Kelsey currently sits on the Executive of the Aboriginal Law section of the Ontario Bar Association.
