Magdalena Hanebach

Magda Hanebach is a Toronto-based Gowling WLG nuclear law associate licensed to practise law in both Ontario and New York. Her practice focuses on various aspects of the nuclear industry, relating to existing nuclear facilities, as well as the development of new build nuclear programs and facilities - from legislative and regulatory matters and issues regarding nuclear liability, to contracting strategies, project development, financing, and risk mitigation strategies.

She has advised numerous domestic and international private and public sector clients, including owners, investors, and contractors across the supply chain. Magda's practice also involves civil and commercial litigation, and the representation of clients in court proceedings, arbitrations and mediations.

Magda's involvement in the nuclear industry extends beyond Gowling WLG. She is treasurer of the Canadian Nuclear Law Organisation and an active member of the International Nuclear Law Association. Magda is also the organizer of the CNLO Nuclear Law School, an annual two-day event for lawyers and industry participants within the Canadian nuclear industry.

In 2020, Magda was recognized as a "Rising Star" in the Legal 500's annual Energy and Natural Resources: Power" guide.
