Mike Myschyshyn

Mike Myschyshyn is an associate working in Gowling WLG's Calgary office.

In court, Mike helps his clients enforce their patents and defend against parent infringement allegations. Outside of court, Mike helps his clients obtain patents, develops defensive strategies against potentially concerning patents, and provides patent monetization advise. Throughout his legal practice, Mike's been involved with patents relating to a wide range of subject matter, including software, energy, agriculture, chemistry, and mechanical devices. 

Mike also practices trademark and copyright litigation, and develops worldwide anti-counterfeiting strategies. In particular, Mike has experience, and a strong interest, in software-related copyright litigation. 

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mike studied biochemistry and earned a master's degree in the subject. During his graduate studies, Mike developed software to analyze DNA sequencing data. Today, Mike applies his coding skills to develop law related software that enables him to be a more efficient and effective lawyer.
