Miray Kavruk

Miray Kavruk advises national and international clients in all fields of intellectual property (IP) law, specialising in trademark, copyright, unfair competition, know-how and employee invention matters.

She has extensive experience advising clients on all aspects of intellectual property and technology transactions, in particular license agreement, research and development cooperations, software development and transfer agreements, IP securities, IP asset transfers as well as with IP and technology heavy M&A transactions and joint ventures.

Miray further advises and represents in litigations for the enforcement and defence of intellectual property rights before national courts and the German Patent and Trademark Office and the EUIPO.

Being experienced in both drafting and negotiating IP/IT agreements and contentious enforcement of IP rights she is frequently engaged by clients for the development and enforcement of IP strategies.

Miray's experience prior to joining Gowling WLG includes:

  • Advising a leading private equity firm on the sale of a global trademark and licensing portfolio;
  • Litigating a trademark license case for a US tools manufacturer;
  • Advising an international investment firm on the acquisition of the intellectual property assets of a fashion retailer;
  • Advising an international automotive company on a joint venture for fuel cell technology;
  • Advising several companies on research and development projects;
  • Advising a consumer goods company on the enforcement of its intellectual property rights against infringers and EU custom seizures.
