Richard C. Dusome

Richard Dusome is a Counsel in Gowling WLG's Hamilton office, practising in banking and financial services with a focus on secured transactions, credit agreements and loan restructurings.

During his years of practice, Richard has been extensively involved in several domestic and international, secured and unsecured financings and loan syndication transactions. He acts for both lenders and borrowers, and represents financial institutions and non-institutional lenders. Richard has extensive experience in the drafting and negotiation of financing opinions and complex inter-creditor agreements, subordination agreements and forbearance arrangements. His experience also extends to structuring loan transactions and security packages within the limits of contractual and regulatory frameworks.

Richard is the founder and former executive editor (2010–2018) of the Fully Secured newsletter for the firm's financial services clients. He is a frequent speaker in Gowling WLG's internal continuing legal education program and is extensively involved in the associate training program. Richard is also a member of the Opinions Committee in the Hamilton office.
