An associate based in Gowling WLG’s Vancouver office, Stephen Lewis advises clients on a wide range of commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing and development.
He takes a solutions-oriented approach, helping clients navigate complex transactions with clarity and confidence. Whether structuring acquisitions, negotiating leases or advising on financing arrangements, he works closely with clients to align legal strategies with their business objectives—ensuring deals are practical, efficient, and forward-looking.
A strong advocate for community engagement, Stephen serves as a board member for the Children’s Hearing and Speech Centre of British Columbia and regularly volunteers as a Pro Bono Legal Advisor for the Access Pro Bono Society of BC. His longstanding commitment to mentorship and youth programs reflects his dedication to making a meaningful impact beyond his legal practice.
Before beginning his legal career, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Simon Fraser University, balancing his studies with playing for the SFU Varsity Football Team and working with the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Coast BC. He went on to complete his JD at the University of Calgary, where he was actively involved in the Student Legal Assistance program, the Business Law Association and various negotiation competitions.
