Tamara El-Shibib

Tamara is a Principal Associate, based in Gowling WLG's Abu Dhabi office, specialising in Patent Prosecution, IP Strategy and Technology Transfer. Her career has seen her at the forefront of developing IP management and technology transfer practices in the Middle East for the last 15 years.

Her practice focuses on providing services and advice relating to patent protection, both regionally and globally, and advising on IP strategy and technology transfer. Tamara works with a broad range of clients including research-based organisations such as top innovator universities in the UAE, and government linked R&D-based entities. She also represents corporate clients at various stages from start-up to established business, who especially value her previous industry experience and her understanding of the IP-related issues in the region. She has consistently been recognised for her work by IAM Patent 1000: The World's Leading Patent Professionals, since 2020 and is ranked as a world leading IP Strategist by IAM Strategy 300 since 2023.
