Tristan Neill

Tristan Neill is an associate litigation lawyer in Gowling WLG's Waterloo Region office. Tristan's practice focuses on dispute management and litigation involving construction and infrastructure projects. Tristan works with a team of legal professionals at Gowling WLG to help clients address complex legal issues arising from their construction projects, aiming to avoid, manage, and resolve disputes advantageously. Tristan routinely handles construction lien matters, and drafts and negotiates construction contracts for a diverse range of projects.

Tristan also practices expropriation law, acting for property owners, tenants, and business owners, and is a member of Gowling WLG's National Expropriation Law Group and Municipal Law Group. This area of his practice leads Tristan to appear before municipal boards and councils, including the Ontario Land Tribunal.

Tristan stays at the forefront of legal developments in his practice areas, regularly presenting to a range of audiences on new construction case law, and helping to coordinate and prepare Gowling WLG's annual article, "Expropriation Law: A Year in Review", which covers the top expropriation cases each year from across the country. Tristan is also a member of the editorial board for the firm's Real Estate and Infrastructure Group Newsletter.

Tristan obtained his law degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. Prior to law school, Tristan completed a masters degree in philosophy at the University of Toronto and a bachelor's degree at Western University.
