Naomi Austin

Naomi Austin is an associate in the Commercial Litigation group in Gowling WLG's Calgary office. She is also a member of Gowling WLG's Canadian Expropriation Law national practice group.
Naomi articled and summered at Gowling WLG. Naomi received her juris doctor from the University of Calgary's Faculty of Law in April 2023. She completed her bachelor of arts with distinction in psychology at the University of Calgary in 2020.
During her time in law school, Naomi volunteered as a project lead with Pro Bono Students Canada on the Indigenous Legal Information Project and as a caseworker with Student Legal Assistance. In her final year of law school, Naomi published a paper in the Dalhousie Journal of Legal Studies discussing the effectiveness of the Crown's duty to consult Indigenous peoples.
Prior to law school, Naomi worked with a local non-profit to develop a digital mental health startup database and as a research coordinator with the University of Calgary Psychology department.
In her free time, Naomi enjoys cooking, skiing, whale-watching, travelling and hiking.
