Bio
Ryan Holley is an articling student in Gowling WLG’s Calgary office.
During his time in law school, Ryan obtained practical legal experience as a clinician for the Law Student Legal Advice Program working with low-income clients to find both substantive and cost-effective resolutions to legal issues. He also volunteered for the Artists Legal Outreach Program, which seeks to offer affordable legal advice to the creative community across Vancouver. With both programs being focused on the efficient and effective resolution of legal matters, Ryan learned first-hand how to meet clients’ financial and practical needs as well as their legal needs.
Prior to law school, Ryan obtained an honours bachelor of arts in media business studies from Toronto Metropolitan University, where he studied the business and legal issues surrounding freelance and legacy media industries. This experience has allowed Ryan to develop a strong appreciation for the entrepreneurial spirit that many clients bring to the environments in which they operate.
Ryan is interested in applying his background to medical defence and health law. In recognizing the pride that professionals take in their work, as well as the complexity of working in the medical industry, Ryan hopes to apply his legal education and practical experience to meet the needs of clients that work hard to maintain and further public health.
