Within the Advocacy department, we hire one student who is dedicated to supporting the Environmental Law Group, assisting with such matters as various as:
- Environment-related litigation
- Environmental prosecution defence work
- Environmental assessment hearings
- Contaminated sites related work

The summer program at Gowling WLG Toronto is generally limited to students who have completed their second year of law school. Please visit the Law Society's website for further information on these procedures.

In past years, we have seconded students to the Royal Bank of Canada, Coca-Cola, General Motors, Alectra Utilities and Ontario Power Generation.
Social programs
As part of the Gowling WLG Toronto social program, our summer students enjoy a range of activities and social events. Our summer students have enjoyed pub nights, a night at the theatre, an evening of ping pong and have participated in a number of charity events including Big Bike for Heart and Stroke and a beach volleyball tournament.
